Kitchen Affair current project will be the first whereby we will use instructions to each other to generate artwork. Currently living in different countries, we see this as a method to work together across distance. The procedure is quite simple. On a regular basis we will post (airmail) an instruction to our partner. The receiver/interpreter will then be responsible for the actual materialization of the idea. Conceptually, the core of the project is the tension between idea and material realization. Pieces are created by being imagined. But as instructions for physical action the imagination is reinterpreted and will appear in a way that is differentiated from the original idea.
